Kuri Kamairicha

Kuri Kamairicha is a tea produced in a traditional way from well-aged plants started from seed (Zairai).

Characteristics

The leaves of the Kuri Kamairicha tea are heated dry, not steamed. These days there are few producers in Japan who have mastered this traditional technique. For the Kuri Kamairicha, the Kadota family chooses from their summer harvest primarily the leaves of older plants started from seed (Zairai). We convinced this producer to change to organic production methods. Though they are still undergoing the organic conversion process, we want to distribute the tea in order to support the Kadota family on their road to certified production.
