Our production

Making tea is an art. Did you know that from the leaves of the tea plant (Camellia sinensis) you can produce green tea, white tea, yellow tea, red tea, black tea and Oolong? Chá Camélia, which has a strong connection with the Japanese tea culture, is mainly dedicated to the production of high quality green tea. Our key objective is to work the whole leaves, very gently by hand, to release the delicate and complex aromas.

Kintsugi Chá Organic
Green tea made from the first Spring time leaves, 100% manual process

Our Kintsugi tea refers to the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of the breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, making the piece even more valuable. On our journey back from Japan, the iron bowl, produced for the production of tea, broke. This had been offered to us by our Japanese partners, the Morimoto family. When I got back to Portugal, we managed to have this precious bowl repaired, making it even more precious. This tea has been made from the first harvest, picked 100% by hand and made in the Kintsugi bowl. It delivers elegant and delicate aromas, which perfectly express the freshness and brightness of Spring.

Nosso Chá Organic
Artisanal green tea from the first Spring harvest

Nosso Chá is the result of the first harvest of green tea in continental Portugal. Our tea plantation is situated in what is known as “the land of the camellias” on the coast of Northern Portugal and is the first of its kind in this location. Chá Camélia uses only organic, artisanal production methods. Nosso Chá is picked by hand and processed in an Asian style. This whole-leaf tea with its complex and fresh flavours allows for multiple infusions.

Florchá Organic
Dehydrated flowers from the tea plants, hand picked

Florchá is the first product from our organic tea plantation, situated in the North of Portugal. In Spring, the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant are used to make tea. In the Autumn, these same plants in our tea plantation produce beautiful flowers, which we carefully pick and dehydrate. The flowers thus maintain their beauty and make a delicate infusion with fresh green flavours and delicate tannins, without caffeine.
