Characteristics

At the beginning of the 16th century, after the discovery of the sea route to India, the impact of the east was so great for the Portuguese that they changed the compass rose from signaling north to the east. At this time, they also brought the first camellias to Portugal and called them roses from the east.

The leaves from our seed plants are pan fired in an oriental style and allow for various infusions with complex flavours.
