Characteristics

The Matcha Bowl (Chawan), with a wavy and creme glaze, represents the Wabi aesthetics of the tea ceremony. For the preparation of Matcha (tea powder from the spring harvest) a bamboo whisk is also required (chasen) to beat the tea, to create a thin foam on its surfasse.
