Portuguese Ceramist, Paulo Alves began making pottery in 1987 and currently lives in Spain. In both countries he undertook specialist ceramic  training at various schools, residencies and symposia. Paulo discovered Raku very early in his career and he has been very influenced by it and embraces its philosophical virtues and the attitude of the free spirit. Through Raku, Paulo discovered tea and the tea ceremony and was inspired to make tea related ceramics in this style.
