Tasca do Joel

The restaurant Tasca do Joel is well known far beyond the village of Peniche, where it is located. Its specialties are fish and fresh seafood from the coast of Peniche and it also has a good wine list. In 2005 Joel opened a Gourmet Shop at the entrance to the restaurant and from the start has sold Camélia teas.

The restaurant Tasca do Joel is well known far beyond the village of Peniche, where it is located. It started in 1982, when the parents of the current owner, Joel Martins, began serving some snacks. In 1994, Joel took over the management and initially served just three dishes. The small restaurant grew and grew, and now it has several rooms which are nearly always full. Its specialties are fish and fresh seafood from the coast of Peniche and there is also a good wine list. In 2005, Joel opened a gourmet shop at the entrance to the restaurant, which sells food and kitchen utensils that are hard to find elsewhere. The shop also has a good selection of wines, whiskies and brandies. From the start, the shop has sold Camélia teas, which are also served in the restaurant
