Mercearia das Flores
The shop owners, Joan Osswald and Joana Oliveira, collectively known as Joanas, decided that their shop would be a traditional grocery shop, selling only Portuguese products, preferably organic and preferably from small producers. In addition, they sell the Camélia blends as well as the Camélia white bowls.
The Mercearia das Flores opened in 2012, in the Rua das Flores, in the heart of Porto. During this time, the street was being redeveloped into a pedestrian area and is now one of the liveliest streets of Porto. The shop owners, Joan Osswald and Joana Oliveira, collectively known as Joanas, decided that their shop would be a traditional grocery shop, selling only Portuguese products, preferably organic and preferably from small producers. The shop has a very good selection of preserves, cheeses, convent sweets, olive oils and wines, many of which are not found elsewhere. In the shop there is a simple cafe, where some of the products on sale in the shop are available to customers.
The Joanas have a fascination for tea and they have decided to sell the Camélia blends in the shop. In addition to the teas with a Portuguese touch, they also sell the white Camélia bowls, which are produced in Portugal by a ceramic company in Aveiro.
